Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold: Check Out the Expected Features
Samsung has officially unveiled its first-ever triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z Trifold, marking a significant leap in foldable technology.
As reported by a Korean media report, Chosun, the company showcased the futuristic device at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit held in in South Korea.
A Closer Look at the Galaxy Z Trifold Design
Images from the event reveal two units of the Galaxy Z Trifold — one in its folded form and another fully unfolded. When unfolded, the device transforms into a tablet-sized display, featuring a punch-hole camera on the right side. The initial reports suggest that the inner display could measure around 10 inches, offering an expansive screen for productivity and entertainment.
When folded, the Galaxy Z Trifold resembles Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, sporting a 6.5-inch outer display with a punch-hole selfie camera. According to tipster Ice Universe, who shared leaked images of the device on X (formerly Twitter), the inner display appears to have slightly thicker bezels compared to Samsung’s previous foldable models.
Design and Expected Features
Leaks suggest that Samsung’s new trifold phone will feature an inward-folding mechanism, where both sides fold toward the center. This approach helps protect the fragile inner display from external damage — a design distinct from the competitor and rival product – Huawei’s outward-folding Mate XTs.
- To support the large form factor, Samsung is expected to incorporate three separate battery cells, each housed in one section of the device.
- On the rear, the Galaxy Z Trifold may come equipped with a triple-camera setup, led by a 200MP primary sensor, alongside ultra-wide and telephoto lenses.
- Under the hood, the device is tipped to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring top-tier performance for multitasking and gaming.
Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold Launch and Price
Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy Z Trifold by the end of 2025 in select markets, including China and South Korea. However, an India launch remains uncertain at this stage.
As for pricing, the upcoming trifold is expected to debut at around $3,000 (approximately INR 2,64,000). For comparison, Huawei’s Mate XTs starts at 17,999 yuan (roughly INR 2,22,000), making Samsung’s version one of the most premium foldables ever produced. If the leaks prove accurate, the Galaxy Z Trifold could redefine the foldable smartphone category — merging the power of a flagship phone with the versatility of a tablet in a single, revolutionary design.
Samsung has long been at the forefront of technological innovation, constantly pushing boundaries in smartphone design and performance. From introducing the first Galaxy Fold to developing flexible OLED panels, AI-driven cameras, and high-performance processors, the company continues to redefine what’s possible in mobile technology. The Galaxy Z Trifold is yet another bold step that reinforces Samsung’s reputation as a pioneer in next-gen smart devices.
